It has been one of those days.
No, this is not a black eye. At least, not in the traditional sense. This is an eye painted with black hair spray (from last Halloween). Painted because, I wanted to see if it worked. Well, she saw it work.
As I was discovering this, Alexis was in the bedroom with her dad, being told for the n-millionth time to NOT gallop in the house. (Alexis longs to be an animal of any non-human type, but most especially a horse).
Nater is in his play pen (his current sleeping spot) screaming because he does not want to nap.
I had just fed the baby and lied him down. Of course, he screams (as this is all he does lately if he is not in Mom's arms).
Other things that have made today one of THOSE days:
- My kids love watermelon enough that they ate the half of a watermelon I prepared for them and then continued to scoop out watermelon from the other half that was left on my table. My floor and table are now covered in watermelon juice.
-Today is the day my sister decided to disappear.
-My big boy is sick; runny nose, cough, and loose stool (the watermelon they ate will make this worse for not only him but everyone else too).
-I can't find my wrap to carry the baby around in.
-The list of things to do today was endless BEFORE and is impossibly long now.
-I have no cookies in my house!
-Toys keep migrating out of the bedroom where they belong. They tend to migrate to the one space I actually had clean.
-I was supposed to leave my house today. That not only hasn't happen but probably wont be happening. So much for trying to make commitments.
It is a good thing I love these people so much! I am glad Philip gets to be home early today. I wouldn't trade my life for anything else, but it can be hard having a 6, 4, 16 month, and not quite 3 week old all day, every day. I say we end this day with a date. Think Philip will be up to it?
How is your day going?
