There are many things I love and many things I don't love about being a military family. One of the things I have always appreciated is the love and support felt from so many. Recently, a nearby water park and car dealership teamed up to sponsor a free day at the water park for military families. We were very excited to go and LOVED it! This park was perfect for a wide range of ages in a family! It was pretty much divided into 5 sections. One section had the large water slides that you could only go on if you met a height requirement. There were two swim sections, one that was 3ft. or less deep and one that was more (we didn't even actually look at this section- so I could be wrong about it). There was a lazy/raft pool that you got in and floated in a circle around. Then there was the main section- a kids water paradise!!!! The majority of this section was like an ocean with the ground slowly sloping into the water. The deepest part of this section was about 1.5 or 2 ft. Nater could walk and play around in the water without having to be carried and the girls could crawl and swim and walk in the water on their own without fear of going under. This section had a playground type area with climbing and slides and sprayers. It had a water table/ waterfall and several fountains. Except for a trip in the lazy pool with Dad, each of the kids spent all of their time here. We walked, and splashed and sat and played. Lexi loved going down the slide. Emi liked crawling in the shallow water. Nater loved being independent (as long as a hand was close by in case he needed it). We arrived at 9 and stayed until after noon. We left when Nater needed a nap. The park also had concessions (which were incredibly pricey) and you could exit and reenter the park (so you could bring a lunch). There was plenty of seating and shade. It was fantastic!!! The best part is that the regular admission is reasonable enough that it won't cost too much to go again. I really appreciate the chance to have moments like these with my family and am grateful for those that make these donations.
Check them out! Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that they also had safety vests you could use for free for your kids (a great blessing since we had forgotten ours and the kids haven't had swim lessons yet).
