Homecoming Update

I want to first say that a majority of these wonderful pictures were taken by my dear friend, Roseanne. She did an awesome job! I am so grateful that she was there to capture such special moments for us. Thank you!

I had not planned on taking the girls to Daddy's homecoming. It was going to be late- past their bedtime, and I wasn't sure they would have a good time with all the waiting. (Also, I wanted the time with him to myself and TB). But as it grew closer and closer to ceremony time on the day he came home, I grew too excited to leave the girls behind. They knew I was going to a party that night and I asked if they wanted to come. YES!
I don't think they knew what the 'party' was about. Our daddy chain still had several links on it (partially because I refused to believe he was coming home so early- partially because I didn't want the girls to experience a crushed hope if he ended up being late) DTE asked if the party was at church. I told her it wasn't, that it was an Army party on post. DTY said, "maybe we will see my daddy at the Army party!" Still they didn't seem to know who their guest of honor at the party would be. I had to work hard not to tell them.
We arrived shortly after they first opened the doors (2 hours BEFORE the ceremony would begin). The girls played and waited. (they had a bounce house that DTE loved!) We talked some with the other people around us. The air was buzzing with excitement!
The girls sharing a candy necklace.

Our Soldiers will be coming through these doors at any moment!

Our Daddy is home!

After a couple hours of waiting the ceremony began. We got to stand right by the door the soldiers came in. At this point in time the girls were covering their ears because of the noise and still not sure what was going on. I tried to spot TLOML but still could not see him. The commander dismissed the troops and after a while we found him. Our daddy was home, and our family was all together for the first time.

I can not begin to describe how good it feels to once again be able to be in the arms of my husband. A huge emptiness has been filled and I am complete.

DTE also could not get enough of being in Daddy's arms. She kept telling him about all the things he missed. She wanted his undivided attention all night. She is so in love with her Daddy and thrilled to have him back.

DTY was not as hands-on. She is the type to stand back and watch a situation. Once she has decided she is comfortable with what is going on she will jump in, but after a hug or two she just watched her daddy from a comfortable distance. She has decided now that she is okay with him being home and adores spending time with her favorite guy in the world.

TLOML met his son for the first time that night. TB was hungry and when daddy took him and cradled him, he began to cry. Now (as long as he has a full belly) he loves to play with, talk to, and be held by dad. I am so excited for TLOML to have a son!

We have been busy as can be with Daddy being home. We are having a blast! We love having our family complete again.
