Discovery and Adventure

Now that Daddy is home (and before we move) I have decided we are going to do as many things as possible in the CO area and create as many fun memories for our kids as we can. One of the top things to do on my list was this museum. http://www.mychildsmuseum.org/Default.aspx
A run down of our fun-filled trip to Denver Children's Museum.
When we first entered the museum we were excited to learn that they had a military discount :) Our first stop (of course) was the bathrooms. (Not exciting I know, except I was thrilled at how family friendly their restrooms are. From kid sized toilets and sinks, to seats for babies in each adult stall, and toilets that were NOT automatic. I truly loved these bathrooms! This is coming from a mom who undoubtedly will visit the restroom with her kids at least once on every single outing. Why is it that kids seem to be so fascinated with using public restrooms?)
Then on to the fun stuff...
3, 2, 1... Blast Off!- a room dedicated to rockets and parachutes. You could build your own rocket or parachute and test how it worked at several stations. You also could shoot rockets at "planets". My favorite part of this exhibit was the teenaged volunteers. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, and totally took over guiding my girls in making a rocket while I nursed the boy.

Next stop, The Center for the Young Child- This are is designed for preschool aged children; a soft, quiet, relaxing play area for parents to play with their young kids. DTE was excited to wear the big kid vest and TB loved the baby pond. I loved having a quiet time to just enjoy my baby, while TLOML watched after the girls and took pictures. The girls loved dressing up and exploring this area. (and they loved the restooms in this area also- and used them with NO help from Mommy or Daddy)

I think the kiddos could have stayed in this part of the museum the whole time, but we wanted to do as much as possible and moved on.

CMD Fire Station No. 1-
What could be more fun then playing on a real fire truck? DTY was a bit catious at first, but they loved it!

Up the elevator to Ready, Vet, Go!- a vet role-playing station. You could be a veterinarian, groomer, trainer, or receptionist. My girls gravitated towards being the "animal doctor". (This one wasn't so much fun for me, but the girls liked it.)

That is still only about half of our trip. I will have to tell you about the rest later. (both TLOML and TB are ready for us to head to bed.)
