Our Miranda

Meet our Miranda
She is sarcastic and clever
She is quiet and shy
She is easygoing and fun
She is a kid at heart
She is a definite night owl!
She is our special helper.
When DTY was born, she came to Idaho to live with us and watch our babies while we were in school. When TLOML deployed, she again left home to come take care of me. Miranda has lived with us for the past 13 months. She stayed with my girls when I went to the hospital. She is the one my girls wake up in the middle of the night. She's helped clean my house and has been my dishwasher for most of the time she has been here. She changes and feeds TB without me even having to ask her to. She runs to school when DTE needs dropped off or picked up. She bakes for me to satisfy my crazy, random cravings. She has been a huge part of our lives. She has helped raise our kids. She is our family.
She is our special helper.

She is my life saver
She is my sister
She is one of my greatest friends

Today is her birthday! I can hardly believe she is 24!!! Have a wonderful birthday Doodle! I love you!

Orders And Planning

We officially got orders today. Which means we could be moving anytime between Sunday and the beginning of November. I have made about 5 lists so far and am trying to clean without packing. I am not sure I can handle the whole Army move thing. I want so badly to do it all myself.

Saying Goodbye To Summer

Back home (in Indiana) we have a parade on Memorial Day. I LOVED the Memorial Day parade. I missed it almost as much as I missed Christmas when I first moved away from home and family. I always feel homesick for my childhood on Memorial Day- things just aren't the same without that parade.
Here, (in Colorado) we have a Labor Day parade. I had more fun at the parade today than I have in such a long time. I think it has something to do with watching the excitement of my girls as they gathered candy, danced to music, waved at people on the floats, shook hands with clowns, and high-fived a passing motorist (in a tiny truck). It was TB's first parade. He slept until the floats starting blowing their horns. Then he watched, but was only mildly amused.
 Sleeping through his first parade.
The girls wore their pjs to the parade.
They had declared today a pajama day.
Awake now and watching the parade.

Between the parade and the cooler weather today just feels like a finale to me. An end to this summer, my last summer here in Colorado (for now anyways- I am sure we will be back eventually). I feel so sad about it too. It's been such a great summer and I don't want it to end. I am VERY much looking forward to this fall and all the excitement in store for us, but I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to this summer. I guess it's a good thing it doesn't officially end for another couple weeks. Guess I better make the most of it!

Before The Beginning

Before beginning this blog I had another blog. I felt stuck with it and rarely updated it so I started fresh, started new. But if you are anything like I am (as  blog reader) you want to start at the very beginning. So here is a link to what there was before the beginning of this blog. (Consider it a prequel- or like unto a prequel, anyways)
